[UPDATE] I shot the blog, and it felt good to see it die.

In case you've been looking for awesome new content, I'm afraid you are looking in the wrong place. No no no, don't worry, I'm not quitting, or dying. I may be guilty of 1st degree murder to this blog, and writing propaganda all over it with it's own blood, but I finally moved to a real website.

This blog was starting to become something that blogspot couldn't handle anymore, so I moved it to a nice fresh, clean, and very smexy Wordpress site. So if you want to see some new posts, follow me down the rabbit hole to 3D Esprit's new website. I promise you, that it won't hurt, and that you will have zero regrets.

See you on the other side!

Artist Etiquette

I wanted to write this simple little article, because there are some points to take into consideration when dealing with the artistic community. I thought I knew how to be courteous, and kind when I joined in, and I did, but there were some things I didn't know about receiving critique. In this article I'm going to cover it all, and what to expect from an artistic community, and what to do when someone else doesn't follow the simple etiquette.

[Workshops] Concept Cookie - I Can Draw Anything

I can't believe it took me so long to finally write this, as I thought I had long ago. Regardless, as it almost time for the 3rd run of this workshop, it's only fair to review it as soon as possible. So, if you follow Tim Vonn Reuden at all, or watch the Concept Cookie Livestream, then you can imagine what sort of things to expect. Of course the workshop gives you so much more foundation, instead of drawing "X", or lighting "Y".

[Review] Sketching Line Art Digitally - Mischief and Krita

While getting myself ready for the new Concept Cookie "I Can Draw Anything" workshop, I felt the need to find something to use for digital line art, since Photoshop never made me happy in that area. When doing some research, I found many people suggested Mischief. During this week's CoCo livestream, I was introduced to another app called Krita. So in this article, I'm going to talk about these two applications, and what I liked most about each.

Ctrl+Paint Dynamic Brushwork

Before this week, I was struggling quite a bit with Photoshop, specifically with painting. Most of my knowledge consisted of using filters to create my textures, and when it came to creating them in a traditional manner, the results were sub-par at best. While watching Concept Cookie's live stream for this week, I asked the question of where to learn how to utilize the brushes when it came to painting in Photoshop. Little did I know that using the basics was the key, and then using specific brushes for the effects you wanted after. Even with that little bit of information, I was not ready to paint just yet, but at least I was given an idea of what to look for in order to progress forward.
